Buying Naked....is baaaaaaack!

Yep,  American television network TLC is bringing back new episodes of Buying Naked to premier June 28. See a preview clip here.


Just today The Washington Post wrote about the so-called trend of "naked" shows on TV, Buying Naked, Naked and Afraid, and Dating Naked. It's not very realistic to be in a survivalist environment, and the people on Buying Naked are for the most part more attractive than average and just how many naturist neighborhoods are there really (?), and we'll just have to see what Dating Naked is like when it airs on VH1 in July.

Is this Pornography?

A recent post by SpotNaked asks this question with only one photo, one similar to the picture below.

What is pornography? "Pornography is the depiction of sexual behavior that is intended to arouse sexual excitement in its audience."

What is obscene? Obscenity has a three pronged definition, and as I understand it, all three have to be present in order to declare something obscene:
a) would an average person, applying community standards, find the material morbid, shameful, and an unhealthy interest in sex;
b) does it depict or describe certain sexual acts as defined by law in a patently offensive way;
c) would a reasonable person find the material lacking in serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value.

I don't want to give a long report about constitutional rights or legal definitions. But I do know people who would consider this photo pornographic and who also consider public nudity indecent and obscene. The human body in this context is neither.

Top 10 tips for your first nakation

The Toronto Sun provides readers with 10 tips for those going on their first nude vacation or nakation.

Tip #8 No selfies or any other photography.

 Tip #10 Tush towels a must.

Tip #9 No staring. Looking is natural, staring is rude.

Tip #1 Relax, Enjoy.

They also ask their readers to participate in a short survey with one question:
Have you ever gone nude on vacation? Choose one response: Yes, I'd do it again! Yes, but it really wasn't for me. No, but I'd like to. No, and I would never want to. Go ahead, take the survey and see how your answer stacks up.

The Sydney Skinny

They say this is the best reason to get naked in front of a thousand people. It's the world's largest nude ocean swim, held every year at Cobblers Cove in Sydney, Australia. It is an event that celebrates body acceptance. I would love to be there. Maybe I'll put this on my bucket list.
